What is God's stance on Gay (homosexual) lifestyles here on earth?

By Pastor Jess Foglesong

..................... What is God's stance on Gay (homosexual) lifestyles here on earth, in being accepted into the gates of heaven? A very controversial subject, indeed.

1 Corinthians 6: 18 - 20 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

So if your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit, and we know that God is Holy and Divine, then we are committing blaspheme in the eyes of God. This is a biblical fact, if you are a believer, that is. And evidently many Gay folks are believers; but they are in the belief that what they are involved in (a Gay relationship with a member of the same sex) is covered by the sacrificial death of the Christ Jesus. Well, is this true? Are they covered by Christ as the savior of human kind? Including homosexuality?

Well, it is true that God sent the Christ Jesus first to vindicate Himself from the accusations of Satan (which Christ did), and two, to pay the ransom, to free the human race (you and me) from the hold and enslavement of the prince of Darkness, again, Satan. And Christ of course did all of that by sacrificing His body and shed His blood and water to bring order and safety for the children of God.

But time has passed since the days of Jesus and Paul and the other Apostles; the world has progressed into modern, dynamic societies, where in just about every part of the world, homosexuality is rampant, similar to the Sodom and Gomorrah event, in a much smaller scale, where God warned everyone that these Cities would be annihilated. In His eyes it was the last straw! So what of today? Is he going to annihilate the united States of America? Or other countries? Or even the entire world?

Well, things have changed since Sodom and Gomorrah. For one thing: Christ came as the Messiah, and died for all of our sins. including Gays and Homosexuals. We now are under a new covenant: a Blood Covenant in The Christ Jesus ... And the saving grace of God, The Father! Not that we are all off the hook; but indeed in a much better position. Therefore, no matter how small or large our sin(s) are, He came and covered us! All sinned, and had to pay a price; which is death. But God solved that problem: by coming to earth as Himself, and paid the price once and for all. He was killed by His own people, and hung on the cross. But being a "God-Man" was able to be raised into Life once more. But here is another very important question that may be the key to life and death for the sexually immoral human being: If Jesus died for our sins; can we go on and keep sinning?

That is the question of the century: can we keep on sinning? Let's look at: Hebrews 10:26-31

For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” ..

I would say those are indeed "fighting" words, right? So Christ died once for our sins. And we are asking: what if we keep on sinning? Are we out of luck? Well, I believe we are still in the running; due to the immense, loving, grace of God. We know that Jesus died not twice or a 100 times, but once; and it was enough to pay for our ransom, and free us, to make a choice: to accept His gift of everlasting life -- or not. But again, does it mean that we can keep on sinning? And with that: concerning Homosexuality, understanding that it is a sin in God's eyes; after receiving the knowledge of the truth, the gospel, and the grace of God, can they keep on sinning (continuing with a homosexual relationship, ie, Gay marriage, etc)?

Well, I hate to say it, but it does look like (in God's eyes) that the intentional involvement in Gay activities, which obviously is taking advantage of the Son of God's actions in satisfying the judgement of a sinful mankind, may not get you into the gates of heaven. God salvaged you and me and all of mankind from sure death, by the hands of Satan. And therefore Jesus's actions saved us; it is simple as that! All we need to do is to try, and that is the key -- try not to sin, intentionally! And if we find ourselves falling into the depths of sin, we need to come to Him and repent, and ask for forgiveness. But heaven forbid!: Don't let your arrogance get the best of you ... Because, once more, as written in scripture: "there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries." Jesus died once; there are no more sacrifices; it is finished; His job is done!

At the end of the day, it is not up to us to judge anyone; but it is our duty to lead them to the one who will make that decision, that is, to take your hand, or not. The Grace of God is full of Love; and with the Christ Jesus fighting for your life, you're in good hands. But you must decide whether life eternal is worth the effort. Therefore it is your job; my job; our job, to live a life with the knowledge of God, through his Son, the Christ Jesus, through what His Holy Spirit did for us -- for all of us: the human race; enabling us to live on, into eternity with angels and other Saints (human beings), in safety and comfort. The "Ball" is in your court: don't hold on to it too long -- time is short! Amen! Pastor Jess Foglesong (TouchedbyGodchurch.com)+
